Scott Sommer is an experienced Nutritionist, Acupuncturist and Herbalist, with a bachelor’s degree from Davis in Clinical Nutrition, and a Master of Science degree from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. He also has additional training in Nutrition Response Testing which is a kinesiology technique designed to pinpoint exactly which supplements will work effectively and efficiently for each individual patient. With his unique training and more than a decade of experience, Scott is known for unraveling complicated cases that other Practitioners have not been able to treat with results.
In 1994, Scott graduated from the University of California Davis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Science. In 1998, he graduated from the University of the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, California with a Master of Science degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine. After working with drug detox patients in the Sacramento area for over five years Scott founded the Natural Life Center of Orangevale, California. Scott practices complementary alternative medicine. Sacramento Magazine has featured Scott as Alternative practitioner and nutritionist in the area. He has also received advanced training in sclerology and iridology. In 2006, Scott completed an intensive one year course in Advanced Nutritional Response Testing with Dr. Freddie Ulan, one of the country’s top nutritionists. He received the prestigious platinum award in 2010 from Standard Process for being one of the top practitioners in the country for alternative medicine. He is writing a book on body matrix testing a system in which he created from his own research and development. These techniques he has used to properly asses and improve the health of thousands of patients over a period of fifteen years or more. His education, training, and research make the Natural Life Center one of the top alternative clinics in the country. He currently sees patients on a national level and some international. He is a California board certified acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist specializing in nutrition, kinesiology, ear and tongue diagnosis, pulse diagnosis, nutritional medicine, weight loss, diet and lab testing.
Karin Sommer is not only the office manager of the clinic but a highly trained health professional with multiple degrees. She hold a Ph.D.c in Clinical Psychology, an MA in Somatic Studies, and an MS in Traditional Oriental Medicine. She has more than 15 years experience as a Holistic Health Practitioner and Yoga teacher. At NLC, she sees patients, providing counseling and nutrition consults, private yoga sessions, and Heart Math biofeedback techniques.
